Official WTA Finals Singapore mobile app launched

On Tuesday, October 14, the WTA and SAP launched the official mobile application for the WTA Finals Singapore. The prestigious year-end WTA Championships will take place in the Southeast Asian nation for the first time next week. Singapore will host the event until 2018.

The application, which can be downloaded starting today, gives fans exclusive access to news feeds, live polls, stats, player profile and photographs, other content such as ticketing and tournament information.

“SAP has developed a great technology that allows our fans to do more, play more and see more,” Stacey Allaster, the Chairman & CEO of the WTA, said of this development. “Improving our fans’ connection with our players and enhancing their experience with our season finale are top priorities for us and this new app will let our fans have more fun as they watch the matches. Together with SAP, we have expanded the WTA Finals app to increase fan engagement before, during and after the Finals.”

Here are the other features of the app:

• Virtual Replay: the ability for fans to view, track and replay ball movement
• Fan Zone: a social media hub where fans can take live polls and engage on Twitter and Facebook
• Leaderboard Stats: a player comparison tool tracking aces, fastest serve, break points saved, etc.

“We’re excited to debut this simple, easy-to-use mobile app together with the WTA, that will increase engagement with tennis fans from around the world,” Chris Burton, group vice president, Global Sponsorships, SAP, said. “App users can tailor push notifications, view and highlight information, and track live tennis matches, taking the interactive experience to the next level.”
