Grigor Dimitrov beats Roger Federer at BNP Paribas Showdown 2015

World number 11 Grigor Dimitrov outlasted second-ranked Roger Federer at an exhibition match held at Madison Square Garden in New York on Tuesday night. The Bulgarian rallied from a break down in the final set to beat the Swiss star 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.

Dimitrov, 23, has yet to win against Federer in official matches with a 0-3 head to head series record. Federer is fresh from a title victory two weeks ago in Dubai. Federer won his 7th Dubai Tennis Championships title after defeating four-time winner and world number one Novak Djokovic.

Earlier in the night, 44-year old Gabriela Sabatini defeated 41-year old Monica Seles 8-5. The retired tennis stars trained for this event to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their unforgettable five-set match at the 1990 WTA Finals at the same event which was won by Seles.
