Radwanska ends Halep’s Singapore campaign

Top-seed Simona Halep ended her campaign at the WTA Finals Singapore on Thursday following a straight sets loss to Agnieszka Radwanska 6-7, 1-6. This marked the third and final round robin match of the Red Group and Halep needed to at least win a set to stay in contention but Radwanska had goals of her own.

Radwanska, despite being 1-2 in the group, has a slim chance of making it to the semifinals. She needed to win her match against Halep in straight sets (which she did) and she needed Maria Sharapova to defeat Flavia Pennetta in straight sets.

The Sharapova-Pennetta match is slated in the evening.

“That tie-break was something else and I just managed to make some great points at important moments. It’s very nice to hear people say my tennis is entertaining so I hope I can keep hearing people say that over and over again,” Radwanska said.

One thing’s for sure, Radwanska is going to keep an eye on this match.

Looks like I will have to watch the Maria/Flavia match today 😉 #500thWin WTA Finals SingaporeWygląda na to, że będę musiała oglądać dzisiejszy mecz pomiędzy Marią i Flavią 😉 #500thWin #WTAFinals #TeamAga
