The second Grand Slam event of the season starts on Sunday, May 22 – the Roland Garros! The biggest names in men’s and womens’ tennis will compete for the trophy in two week’s time. They will need to determine first their first round opponents as the Roland Garros 2016 Draw Ceremony takes place a few days before the main competition.

The defending men’s champion is Swiss star Stanislas Wawrinka. Wawrinka defeated tournament favorite Novak Djokovic in a thrilling final in 2015. Djokovic is aiming to complete a Career Grand Slam as the French Open is the only Slam that he has yet to win.
In the women’s side, defending champion Serena Williams is back and is raring to win Grand Slam number 22. She came close from tying Steffi Graf’s haul of 22 Grand Slam titles last year in New York but fell short in the semifinals. She had another close chance in January at the Australian Open this year but lost in the title match to first-time Slam titlist Angelique Kerber.
