WATCH: Novak Djokovic rips Uniqlo shirt in US semifinal showdown with Monfils

We’ve seen him do this before when he’s celebrating a victory but this time Novak Djokovic rips his Uniqlo shirt in frustration.

During his semifinal match at the US Open on Friday, Djokovic was leading Gael Monfils of France by two sets to love. However, the top seed was seen ripping his shirt after having lost three consecutive break points. Monfils would go on to win the set.

But Djokovic regrouped and defeated the Frenchman in four sets 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 to advance to his seventh US Open final. He’s aiming to win his 13th Grand Slam title, just one shy of the haul of Rafael Nadal and Pete Sampras.

“These things happen,” Djokovic said. “Sometimes you’ll see a thrown racquet here and there, a ripped shirt. It’s all in the heat of the battle.”

The world number one only had good words to say about his clothing sponsor.

“I can’t blame Uniqlo for that shirt,” he said. “The quality is very good, by the way.”
