For first time in 13 years, no Federer, Nadal in ATP Top 4 rankings

Two of the “Big 4” of ATP stars are not in the Top 4 at the moment.

For the first time in 13 years, both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are out of the world’s top 4 in the ATP rankings.

Federer, who had an injury-plagued season, has decided to cut short this season after reaching the Wimbledon semifinals. The Swiss Maestro is currently ranked seventh but is projected to be ranked out of the world’s top 10 by the end of the season. For Nadal, he dropped one place to fifth after he was defeated at the China Open quarterfinals.

For the week starting October 10, the world’s top 4 are Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori. Rounding up the top ten are Nadal, Milos Raonic, Federer, Gael Monfils, Tomas Berdych and Dominic Thiem.

Nadal can easily make his way back in the world’s top 4 with a strong finish at the Shanghai Masters this week. The Spaniard is just 10 ranking points behind Nishikori.
