World eagerly awaits Roger Federer’s return at Hopman Cup in January 2017

As part of his buildup to the Australian Open, Roger Federer will compete at the Hopman Cup in early January.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion will join Belinda Bencic to form Team Switzerland in the eight-team tournament which takes place from January 1 to 7 in Perth.

Defending champions Nick Kyrgios and Gavrilova have signed up to return at the tournament and will aim to retain the title for Australia. They became the first Australians since Jelena Dokic and Mark Philippoussis won the title back in 1999.

“Australia hadn’t won it for a long, long time so, to be coming back there, it’s pretty exciting to be defending the title,” Kyrgios said.
