Argentina, led by comebacking Juan Martin Del Potro, is aiming to end its title drought this year having come close several times in the past. The Marin Cilic-led Croatia team is hoping to win a second Davis Cup title.
“Marin is a good player, I’ve known him since 12 years old and we’ve had a similar career. He’s a very good friend of mine on the Tour,” said Del Potro. “He deserves to be No. 6 in the world at the moment. He’s a great player and he has a chance to win this trophy this weekend, but we will try and win as well.”
“It will be a difficult match,” Karlovic said. “He was doing unbelievable this year, how he played at the Olympics after his injuries. It will be a difficult match but I know that I will have my chances and I hope that I will be able to take them.”
