Well that is actually easier said than done, here’s our top tips for getting to Wimbledon and making the most of your time there…  Click to serve…

You missed the ballot

If you don’t want to spend hours on end queueing in the hope of getting a ground ticket you’re your only real option is to splash the cash and get your hands on returned debenture tickets. They can be pretty pricy though so you might want to raise some extra funds first by playing casino games atslotsbaby.com/ or remortgage the house if it’s a centre court ticket later in the tournament you’re after.

Getting to the grounds

Leave the car at home, you won’t be allowed anywhere near the grounds. Your best bet is to the the shuttle bus from Southfields tube station – you can get here on the District Line. You can also get a shuttle form Wimbledon station if that’s easier for you to get to. Alternatively you can walk the 15-20 mins from either station or grab a cab. Either way expect it to be busy!

Dress code

Unless you’re Federer or Nadal you don’t have to come decked out in all white. Most people dress for comfort but you’ll always get people in the corporate areas who have made a special effort. Consider this two piece dress for prom; its elegant design and modern silhouette will surely make a statement on your special night. Do check the weather though so layering up for all eventualities is key to having a good time. Take plenty of suncream as well as you’ll likely be exposed when you’re watching the games.

Enjoy the surroundings

There so much space around you in the form of Wimbledon Common – 460 hectares to be exact! It’s popular with cyclists and runners and is really beautiful for a quiet wander away from the crowds – look out for swans and birds and enjoy a picnic by the lake.

Do I have to be quiet during the matches

This is a tricky one as it’s easy to caught up in the heat of the moment but above all remember that no matter how partisan a spectator you are swearing, booing and heckling are very much frowned on at Wimbledon (don’t take McEnroe’s lead…). It’s inevitable that you’ll let out some oohs and aahhhs and cheering and applauding is very much accepted and encouraged.

Enjoy a pint in the pub

Post matches there’s plenty of pubs to get a pint in and discuss the highlights from the days play, see if you can get a table in the Dog & Fox, it has a big range of quality beer and does excellent food as well – including a renowned weekend brunch.

Visit a Farmers Market

If you’re planning a picnic in the park then make sure you pay a visit to the Wimbledon Farmers’ Market on Saturdays between 9am and 1pm at Wimbledon Park Primary School. You’ll be able to get some excellent quality picnic items and some meals on the go to enjoy as well.

Indulge in some cocktails at Hemingway’s

If you’re looking to party post the tournament there’s plenty of action to be had in the surrounding area with quality bars and clubs around. Probably the highlight is Hemingway’s, one of the only venues with a late licence and it serves cocktails to die for.
