Roger Federer is just two matches away from winning his sixth US Open title. However, he will need to overpower a familiar opponent, world number four Novak Djokovic, in the semifinals of this hardcourt Grand Slam tournament.
Both players overpowered their quarterfinal opponents in four sets. Federer eased past French Open finalist Robin Soderling 60 63 67 76 while Djokovic beat Fernando Verdasco 76 16 75 62.
