Canada’s Milos Raonic to miss tour for six weeks, undergoes surgery

Canada’s number one player Milos Raonic will be out of the ATP Tour for the next six weeks as he recuperates from the hip surgery which he just underwent on July 5 in Vail, Colorado.

The 20-year old injured his hip during his second-round match at Wimbledon 2011 against Gilles Muller and had to retire from the match. He also withdrew from this weekend’s Davis Cup tie between Canada and Ecuado.
Raonic made waves this season after winning his first title at the SAP Open in San Jose, reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open as a qualifier and reaching the Estoril Open semifinals. His impressive performances this 2011 led to his ranking rising from 156 at the start of the season to no. 26, compiling a 26-13 match record.
