Calendar year Grand Slam win possible for Novak Djokovic

World number one Novak Djokovic believes that it is possible that he can achieve what Don Budge and Rod Laver have done in the past – win all Grand Slam tournaments in one calendar year.

“Look, if I make half what I’ve done this year next year I’ll be happy,” Djokovic said.

“I do have always a huge desire to win every Grand Slam that I’m playing on. I prepare equally well for each Grand Slam throughout the year. It’s a task that you really, I don’t want to say that’s not possible. It’s possible. Everything is possible. But still, it’s such a tough task to ask to win all four Grand Slams in a year. How many players did it in all history?” he added.
Djokovic fell short of achieving this milestone this season, losing to Roger Federer in the semifinals of the Roland Garros tournament. The Serbian world number one won three major titles this year (Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open).
