World number three Victoria Azarenka remains unsure whether she’ll be competing at the Sony Open 2013 in Miami this week. She’s still dealing with a right ankle injury that forced her to withdraw from her quarterfinal match at the recently concluded BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells last week.
“Well, I’m here and that’s already a good sign,” she told reporters.
“The improvement every day is going better and better. It’s too early for me to say right now, but I’m glad that it’s improving. That’s the important thing. I still have a couple of days to get better. I’m in a positive mood…It’s not pleasant, but I have to think positively in this particular time. It’s not life-threatening; it’s just an unknown situation,” she added.
