The French Open 2013 begins on Sunday, May 26 to June 9. The world’s best tennis players, both from the ATP and WTA Tour, are in Paris to take part in the second Grand Slam event of the year which will be conducted on slow red claycourts at the iconic Roland Garros Stadium.
Defending champions Rafael Nadal (Men’s Singles) and Maria Sharapova (Women’s Singles) are back and eager to retain these titles on their end. However, they will be facing tougher competition, with last year’s runner-up Novak Djokovic aiming to achieve a Career Grand Slam by winning the French Open and world number one Serena Williams who just wants to forget her first round loss last year and finally reverse her fortune and hoist the trophy for the second time in two weeks time.
