The Aegon International 2013 Eastbourne will take place from June 17 to June 22 and is one of the crucial grasscourt warm-up events leading to the Wimbledon Championships which begins a day after the final. This dual-gender has a total financial commitment of € 526,060 for the men’s event and $690,000 for the women’s event. The 2012 champions were Andy Roddick of United States (ATP) and Tamira Paszek of Austria (WTA).
Leading the men’s field will be Argentine Juan Monaco who will be facing stiff competition from other caliber players such as Gilles Simon of France and Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany who are seeded in this tournament.
The women’s field is packed with world’s top ten players headed by Agnieszka Radwanska (world number 4) of Poland, followed by Sara Errani, Petra Kvitova, Caroline Wozniacki, Li Na and Angelique Kerber.
