The Gerry Weber Open 2013 will take place in Halle, Germany from June 10 to 16. It is one of the five grasscourt events in the ATP Tour and a great warmup event to the grasscourt Slam event of the season – the Wimbledon Championships which begins later this month. The tournament has a total financial commitment of € 779,665.

World number three and last year’s finalist Roger Federer is back as the tournament top seed. Federer is aiming to win his first title of the 2013 season and his chances are big at this tournament considering that he has won this five times in the past. However, there are a number of high caliber tennis players in the field including his good friend Tommy Haas who stormed his way to a title win last year in this ATP 250 event.
