One of the most highly anticipated events on the ATP and WTA Tour, the Miami Open takes place after the BNP Paribas (another Masters 1000 and Premier Mandatory event) in Indian Wells. The Indian Wells title was successfully defended by Novak Djokovic (defeated Roger Federer) and new champion Simona Halep defeated former titlist Jelena Jankovic.
