In the men’s singles quarterfinal matches, Serbian Novak Djokovic lost his bid to defend the title when he was beaten by 7th seed Andy Roddick. World number one and 2007 Champion Rafael Nadal defeated Argentine Juan Martin del Potro. Roger Federer (2) and Andy Murray (3) progressed as well.
