World number 24 Igor Andreev gained the top seeding in this week’s Grand Prix Hassan II, a €450,000 ATP Masters 250 event held at Casablanca, Morocco. The qualifier slots have been filled already and the main draw matches will start today.
Last year’s champion Gilles Simon of France elected not to defend the title.

Opening matches could be tough for some of the seeded players since they will face formidable opponents who at one point in time have been in the world’s top 10. The ever-dangerous unseeded players include former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero and former world number three Ivan Ljubicic.
