Read on:

* Russian Marat Safin is looking forward to a life after tennis. He stressed during a news conference following his loss to Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Madrid Masters that he’s NOT slacking off from his game even though it’s a known fact that this is his final year on tour. He’s currently 6-8 in tournament matches this year with his last three tournaments resulting to first round losses. He doesn’t really care what we think, anyway….

* It’s been a year since she stunned the world with her immediate retirement even though she was the reigning world number one at that time.

Belgian Justine Henin said that she has no regrets from making that decision and has no plans of making a comeback. The seven-time Grand Slam winner currently has a promising television career and has just been appointed as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. With her hands full, Henin said that she has little time to check on what’s new in the tennis world…

* It’s official, Argentine player David Nalbandian underwent hip surgery and won’t be active in the tour for the next four months. The 15th ranked player will miss lucrative tournaments in the coming months.

* Anna Kournikova is making headlines again but in a good way. According to this report, the former world number eight will be coordinating with the Cartoon Network and the Boys and Girls of America organization to encourage kids to dwell into sports and exercise.
