2008 Wimbledon Champion Rafael Nadal failed to defend his title last year due to a nagging knee injury but the break from tennis seemed to have worked well for the Spaniard with impressive wins this year – winning all three claycourt Masters titles and the French Open. He then clinched the world number one ranking and might as well stay at the top for a longer time since he will be gaining more points after reaching the final four in this prestigious grasscourt tournament.
In order to reach the final, he has to get past by hometown hope Andy Murray in the semifinal match scheduled on July 2, 2010. Nadal currently holds a 7-3 win-loss lead against the British player. However, with the majority of the crowd expected to cheer on Murray in this highly anticipated match, the stats may not be of much importance.
