ATP World Tour Finals 2010: Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic win doubles title

Despite the knowledge that they’ll be ending their partnership by the end of this season, Canadian Daniel Nestor and Serb Nenad Zimonjic were still at their best element at the championship round of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. Their efforts paid off when they defeated Max Mirnyi and Mahesh Bhupathi in a close two set match 7-6, 6-4 at The O2 Arena in London.

This Barclays ATP World Tour Finals 2010 title became the seventh trophy that the duo received this season. They’ve won the Roland Garros title earlier this year and the ATP Masters tournament in Monte-Carlo.

Next year Nestor will team up with Max Mirnyi, while Zimonjic will partner up with Michael Llodra of France. During the trophy presentation, Nestor joked “We’ve had three amazing years. People wonder why we are splitting up. The truth is we play great tennis, but we really don’t like each other!”
