It was a far cry from their epic match at the 2010 Wimbledon final but with the same result. World number two Roger Federer ousted American Andy Roddick in the semifinals of the ATP 500 Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel with a score of 6-2, 6-4. This increased Federer’s career record against Roddick to 20-2.
The other semifinal match was contested by defending champion Novak Djokovic and compatriot Viktor Troicki. The world number three prevailed 7-6, 6-4 and is now just a win away from retaining the title.
The 2010 Swiss Basel Final Match is going to be a rematch from last year where then three-time defending champion Federer was unseated from the throne by Djokovic.
