Novak Djokovic wins Mutua Madrid Open 2011 crown, unbeaten streak continues

World number two Novak Djokovic won the Mutua Madrid Open 2011 Men’s Singles final after beating top-ranked Rafael Nadal in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Djokovic produced 26 winners against Nadal’s 17 and was in his element throughout the game.

Nadal won 37 consecutive claycourt matches while Djokovic was riding on a 33-match win streak which started since late 2010. He’s still unbeaten this 2011 season and is now a clear favorite to win the Roland Garros 2011 tournament.
He had already beaten Nadal three times this year- all in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 Final: Indian Wells, Miami and Madrid.
