Roland Garros 2011: Marion Bartoli advances to quarterfinals after opponent retires

Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli reached the French Open 2011 quarterfinals after her opponent, Gisela Dulko of Argentina, retired with a leg injury while trailing in the match 7-5, 1-0 on Sunday.

Dulko received medical treatment on her left leg during the first match and continued player. However, she decided to quit after Bartoli held serve 1-0 in the second set.

The Argentine beat 2010 runner-up Samantha Stosur in the previous round.
