Wimbledon 2011: Tsonga stages biggest upset, beats Federer in quarterfinals

France’s Jo-Wilfried Tsonga staged a huge comeback to beat six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Wimbledon Championships. Tsonga was down two sets before finding his game to clinch the remaining three to upset the tournament third seed 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

“Just amazing today I played unbelievable everything was in. It was amazing, I’m so happy, that’s crazy,” Tsonga said after the match.

Tsonga, who reached the finals of the Australian Open in 2008, will next face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals after the latter overcame tough challenge from Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic in four tight sets. The semifinal match is a replay of their Australian Open 2008 final which Djokovic won.
