Maria Sharapova enters French Open 2012 as strong contender

The 2012 season for world number two Maria Sharapova has been fruitful so far, reaching the Australian Open final (losing to number one Victoria Azarenka), Indian Wells final (also losing to Azarenka), Miami final (losing to Agnieszka Radwanska) and winning two premier events on claycourt surfaces, arguable her weakest surface. She won the claycourt event in Stuttgart, Germany and the Italian Open tournament which makes her a strong contender at the 2012 Roland Garros. The question looms, will she be able to get the only Grand Slam title that has eluded her? She’s already won the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the US Open titles in the past.
