Roland Garros 2012: Novak Djokovic to assert dominance in Paris

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic believes that he’s now at the “peak of his career” and this is the best time for him to strive hard and bid for his fourth consecutive Grand Slam victory at the Roland Garros 2012 tournament in Paris, France.

“Mindset is always positive and I’m always expecting from myself a lot,” Djokovic said.

“I had the best year-and-a-half of my career and I believe I’m at the peak of my career at this moment. I definitely want to use this confidence I have and try to make a good result here in Roland Garros,” he added.

Djokovic is aiming to become the first player to accomplish a 43-year old feat by tennis great Rod Laver to hold all four Grand Slam singles titles in a calendar year. The top-ranked Serbian won the Wimbledon 2011, US Open 2011 and the Australian Open 2012 tournaments.

The 2011 season was Djokovic’s most impressive by far, going to a 43-0 winning streak. His unbeaten streak ended at the Roland Garros 2011 semifinals against 16-time Grand Slam winner and eventual finalist Roger Federer.

Federer and Djokovic are projected once more to meet at the semifinals at this year’s Roland Garros.
