Roland Garros 2012 champion Maria Sharapova continued her winning streak after winning the claycourt Slam by winning her opening match at the Wimbledon 2012 Championships. She eased past Australia’s Anastasia Rodionova in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The top-ranked Russian recently completed a career Grand Slam after winning the French Open a month ago. She’s aiming to win her second Wimbledon title after winning the grasscourt Slam eight years ago where she beat then defending-champion Serena Williams.
