Roger Federer, Lleyton Hewitt take part in Shanghai Masters 2012 draw ceremony

World number on Roger Federer and former top-ranked Lleyton Hewitt took part in the draw ceremony of the Shanghai Rolex Masters 2012 on Saturday.

To further promote the upcoming tennis competition in the Chinese city, Federer made an appearance at the Rolex Boutique on The Bund while Hewitt was at the picturesque waterfront area at the city’s center.

“I am very happy to be back in Shanghai,” said Federer.

“I have a lot of fans here. I have not been here for two years because so many things in my life have changed, like having a family. I decided five days ago that I was ready to play here and I discussed it with my wife [Mirka], because it’s important to have a happy wife. I am very happy to be back here, where I have had a lot of success in the past,” he added.

Federer is a two-time winner in Shanghai (formerly named Tennis Masters Cup) in 2006 and 2007. In 2006, he defeated James Blake of United States and the year after he overcame a tough challenge from David Ferrer of Spain to successfully defend the title. Hewitt, on the other hand, is a former winner of the Tennis Masters Cup in 2002 and has beaten Federer in the semifinals
