Novak Djokovic moves to Australian Open 2013 Fourth Round

Top-seeded and two-time defending champion Novak Djokovic barged into the fourth round of the Australian Open 2013 after beating Czech player Radek Stepanek with a 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 scoreline. This is Djokovic’s seventh year in a row to reach the fourth round or better at the Melbourne Park. Up next for the Serbian tennis star is Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka.

Djokovic admitted that his match against Stepanek has been the hardest so far in the tournament.

“I wasn’t expecting an easy match coming into the third round and playing a seeded player. He loves the big stage. You saw how much fun he had. I also had a lot of fun playing. It was a very entertaining match,” Djokovic said.

The world number one has won the Australian Open three times – in 2008, 2011 and 2012 and is a heavy favorite to win this hardcourt Slam event for the third straight year.
