Serena Williams distanced herself from the rest of the world’s top ten after winning the Italian Open on Sunday. Just a week ago, she was close to surrendering the top ranking to Maria Sharapova. But this time, she’s now more than a thousand points ahead than the Russian. With no points to defend at Roland Garros, we’ll expect her ranking to soar to greater heights.
