David Nalbandian won’t be participating at Wimbledon 2013 tournament

Former world number three David Nalbandian of Argentina will not be participating at the Wimbledon 2013 Championships which begins next week. The Argentinian had undergone hip and shoulder surgery in May.

The 31-year old is reportedly still using crutches during the recovery period and has yet to test his shoulder. He hopes to return to professional tennis soon, according to new site Fuebuena.

Nalbandian has notably been one of the toughest contenders on grasscourts, having reached the 2002 Wimbledon final. This season, he only played a few matches but reached a claycourt final in Sao Paulo in February where he lost to Rafael Nadal.
