Argentine Berlocq wins SkiStar Swedish Open title

Carlos Berlocq of Argentina won his first career ATP World Tour title on Sunday with a straight sets victory over Spain’s Fernando Verdasco 7-5, 6-1. Berlocq became the ninth player over thirty years of age to win a title this year.

The match took an hour and 38 minutes. He took part in the doubles final later in the day but lost.

For his title winning run in Bastad, Berlocq gained 250 ranking points and a hefty €78,300 in prize money. Verdasco gained 150 ranking points and €41,240.
