Andy Murray solidified his hold on the world number two ranking after winning the Wimbledon title, the first British male player since Fred Perry in 1936 to do the feat. Djokovic improved his ranking despite the loss on Sunday since he was a semifinalist last year and this year went a step ahead to reach the final. Roger Federer drops to number five after failing to defend the title and lost a significant amount of ranking points following his second round defeat at the All England Club.
