Wimbledon 2013: Germany’s Sabine Lisicki sets up clash with Williams

Sabine Lisicki of Germany beat Australia’s Samantha Stosur to reach the fourth round of the Wimbledon 2013 Championships. The former semifinalist will be battling against defending champion and world number one Serena Williams at the Centre Court for a place in the quarterfinals on Monday.

Lisicki lost the first set but rebounded to win the next two against the Stosur, a 2011 US Open titlist, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

“Sam played a fantastic match,” Lisicki said. “I think going through that challenge makes me feel ready for the next one, as well. There are always things to improve, but I felt great out there.”

Lisicki has had great success at this grasscourt Slam. She’s reached the second week at the All England Club for the fourth time.

“It’s my favorite tournament,” Lisicki said. “I love playing here at Wimbledon. Centre Court is something so special to play on. It’s really fun to be here in the second week for the fourth time in a row.
