Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams lead world’s highest paid female athletes

An impressive seven out of ten women in the Forbes’ list of highest paid female athletes in the world are professional tennis players and in fact the top four are occupied by WTA stars.

Leading the list is Russia’s Maria Sharapova who earned an estimated $29 million followed by top-ranked female tennis player Serena Williams with $20.5 million.
