Roger Federer sells his cow “Desiree” for good cause

A report released by Swiss daily Blick revealed that the cow christened as “Desiree” which was given to world number five Roger Federer during the Suisse Open in Gstaad recently has been sold via a livestock auction.

According to the report, the cow was sold for about 4,000 Swiss Francs (which is 4282.20 in US dollars), the second most expensive cow of the auction. The money, of course, did not end up on Federer’s pockets as they were given up for a good cause. It was not mentioned as to which organization will receive the proceeds.

This was the second time that Federer was bestowed a cow. The first one was in 2003 at the same venue. The cow was named “Juliette,” which ended up being slaughtered in 2005.
