Victoria Azarenka outlasts Ana Ivanovic to reach US Open 2013 quarterfinals

World number two Victoria Azarenka outlasted Ana Ivanovic of Serbia in a battle of former top-ranked players at the US Open 2013 fourth round match on Tuesday.

The Azarenka – Ivanovic match was originally scheduled on Monday but due to the rain delays, the organizers opted to cancel this match and move it to Tuesday.

It was evident that both players were struggling with their gameplay but it was Azarenka who eventually won in the match between Grand Slam titlists 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The match lasted 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Azarenka, a finalist last year at the US Open, will next face Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia on Wednesday and will have just a day to rest for that upcoming match.
