Rafael Nadal not in hurry to start own family

World number one Rafael Nadal said that he’s not in a hurry right now to start a family of his own.

The Spaniard made these comments via an interview with Cosas Peru magazine where the top-ranked tennis star gets an exclusive feature.

“Honestly, I’m fine as I am. I like to have a family, but there’s no hurry. For now, because I want to continue with the life that I have, to play tennis,” he was quoted as saying.

“Obviously it’s much easier to start a family when you have a stable life when you have an unstable life, as we have the players. The players, for example, live in the same place, traveling one day a week and return home. The players we travel anywhere in the world every week. That makes for us is much more difficult to start a family. Do I have the chance to spend much time in the same place, to have a strong routine, an orderly life.”

“My life is thus disordered by the simple fact that I am now in Shanghai, tomorrow I will be in Mallorca, tomorrow in Paris and another week in Peru.”

Nadal is in a relationship with long-time girlfriend Maria Francisca Perello.

Nadal’s rivals Novak Djokovic has just proposed and got engaged to Jelena Ristic while Roger Federer is already married and has twin daughters.
