French tennis player Richard Gasquet denied that he had a thing with Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli during their teenage years. In an interview with L’Equipe magazine, Gasquet said: “I never flirted with her. I wouldn’t hide it and I’m not reluctant to talk about it—I’ve flirted with many others.”
This contradicted what Bartoli said during a recent interview. After losing a ping-pong game, Bartoli revealed that she and Gasquet had been close when she was 16.
Aside from the aforementioned, Gasquet revealed that unlike other notable tennis players, he loves tennis and is looking forward to compete at the Davis Cup in 2014 where he will help the team win the team competition.
Bartoli has retired from the sport in August after losing a match at the Cincinnati Open just a few weeks after her lone Grand Slam singles title at Wimbledon.
