Stanislas Wawrinka overtakes Roger Federer in ATP World Tour Finals standings

Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland has overtaken his more popular compatriot Roger Federer at the ATP World Tour Finals standing after he reached the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters 2013. The 28-year old moved to seventh place in the ATP Race to London by accumulating 3,150 points. Federer, who lost in the third round to Gael Monfils, dropped to eighth place with 3,145 points.

There are now only four more remaining berths for the year-end finale that takes place in London from November 4 to 11. Juan Martin Del Potro secured a berth by reaching the final.

Wawrinka lost his quarterfinal match to top-ranked Rafael Nadal of Spain.
