Retired tennis player David Nalbandian delighted his fans when the former world number three defeated current world number one Rafael Nadal 6-4, 7-6 at an exhibition match that took place in Cordoba. This marks Nadal’s second consecutive defeat in a series of exhibition tournaments this week. Nadal was beaten by world number two Novak Djokovic in their exhibition encounter in Chile.
“For me it’s a historic day, thank you very much for the support I had always had from you,” Nalbandian said to thousands of people who watched the event.
Nalbandian will meet Nadal in another exhibition match this Saturday in Buenos Aires.
