Roger Federer admits winning another French Open hard as long as Nadal is around

Swiss maestro Roger Federer admitted that it would be hard to win another French Open title as long as Rafael Nadal is around. His Spanish rival has won eight Roland Garros titles and has only lost once in Paris, in 2009 – the year when Federer won the title for the first time.

“The French Open is always going to be hard as long as Rafa Nadal is around,” said Federer.

“But on the other surfaces, if I am playing well, it’s more in my racquet than in anybody else’s racquet,” he added.

The 32-year old Swiss superstar is working hard to rise in the rankings by the 2014 season. He’s targeting a return in the world’s top 4.

“My back troubles are behind me now and physically I am fine and mentally at peace with myself.”
