Caroline Wozniacki signs up new deal with Babolat

World number ten Caroline Wozniacki has signed up a new endorsement deal with tennis racquet brand Babolat. The Danish star used a Yonex racquet for the better part of two years and when her rankings started to slip, she discontinued using the racquet and practiced with a blacked-out one during spring. Speculations arose that she may be using a Babolat brand as it was the one she used prior to signing up with Yonex back in 2011.

“I’m looking for a little more power, but also a little more control at the same time, such as I might get a little more spin on the ball,” she said in an interview with Ekstra Bladet.

Wozniacki has not specified which particular frame she will be using for the 2014 season. She’s slated to compete at Brisbane International this week but had to pull out due to shoulder injury. She’s setting her sights to compete at the Sydney International a week after.

The former world number one is working with new coach Thomas Hogstedt, the former coach of Maria Sharapova.
