Madrid Masters kicks off campaign for 2014 edition

The organizers for the upcoming Madrid Masters 2014 has already launched an extensive advertising campaign for ATP Masters 1000 claycourt event that will take place in May at the Caja Magica at the Spanish city. The pre-Christmas campaign called “Aquí hay magia” (There’s magic here) is already in full swing to drum up interest for the event.

The 2013 edition of Madrid Masters was one of the five Masters events won by Rafael Nadal in the season which helped catapult his ranking back to world number one by the end of the year. The event garnered controversy in 2012 when it experimented on blue claycourts which got mixed reactions from tennis players. Roger Federer won the men’s event back then.

The Madrid Masters 2014 will run from May 2 to 11.

The dual-gender Madrid Masters campaign will be featured in two stages. The first one will begin in December until February 9 where a number of boards, banners, billboards and other campaign materials will feature marquee ATP and WTA players such as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Agnieszka Radwanska, Li Na and Maria Sharapova who are expected to participate. The defending champions are Rafael Nadal (ATP) and Serena Williams (WTA).
