Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland secured another career milestone on Friday after posting his 300th career match win. The Swiss number two defeated Aljaz Bedene 6-2, 6-1 in 66 minutes to reach the Chennai Open 2014 semifinals.

“Someone told me before I came to Chennai that I could achieve the milestone this week,” Wawrinka said. “It is special, after a long time on the tour, and I am really happy. I was focused on the match, which was not easy.”

The world number eight became the fourth player from Switzerland to post 300 or more career wins after Roger Federer (923 and counting); Marc Rosset (433) and Jakob Hlasek (432).
