It was just a straightforward fourth round match at the Australian Open 2014 between two-time defending champion Victoria Azarenka and American 13th seed Sloane Stephens with the Belarussian prevailing 6-3, 6-2 at the Rod Laver Arena on Monday.
It was a rematch of their semifinal encounter at the same event a year ago which was clouded with controversy.
Azarenka is the lone former champion left in the draw following the surprise fourth round exits of five-time champion Serena Williams and three-time finalist and 2008 champion Maria Sharapova.
The world number two will next face the winner of the fourth round match between Garbine Muguruza and Agnieszka Radwanska.
