Former world number one singles and doubles player Martina Hingis will be handed a wildcard for the Premier Mandatory Sony Open 2014 Miami which begins on Tuesday. The Swiss Miss decided to make a return on the WTA Tour via doubles competition last year but so far has not generated impressive results.
Hingis will be partnered with Sabine Lisicki of Germany which she is currently coaching. The last time Hingis played at Key Biscayne was in 2007.
Hingis and Lisicki competed at this week’s BNP Paribas Open 2014 in Indian Wells but lost their opening round match to seventh-seeds Casey Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty
