Rafael Nadal surges past Murray in Rome Masters

Top-ranked Rafael Nadal surged past Andy Murray in the quarterfinals of the Rome Masters on Friday and it was not an easy match once more for Nadal as he battled past the reigning Wimbledon champion 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 to set up a semifinal clash with 12th-seed Grigor Dimitrov.

“He finished the match incredibly well,” said Murray. “The last three games he was physically a little bit stronger than me at the end. Apart from that it was a good match.”

Nadal was fresh from a title victory in Madrid Masters last weekend and will attempt to win the title at Foro Italico for the eighth time in his career.
